State Relations

State government has the largest effect on the students and community here at San Francisco State University. As a state university, within the California State University system, our largest individual funder is the state government. In addition to funding, our governance system can be affected by legislation passed by the legislature and signed by the Governor.

In our Government Relations office, we work with our state elected officials to educate them about the needs of our campus. We have six state legislators in our general service area, Marin, San Francisco and San Mateo counties that we speak with regularly on issues related to our university. View CSU priority bills.
